Students must be registered by their band instructor. Initial All-State Band Auditions occur in December, but the registration process takes place early each school year. Please check with your band director for specific details and deadlines.

Starting with the 2024-2025 audition cycle, there is a time limit for performing scales for Woodwinds and Brass. The time limit varies per instrument and level depending on the number of octaves required. Refer to the instructions on the wind scale sheets.
Percussion: District AUDITION Requirements

For the District Level Audition, students are required to play the Mallet Scale Requirements, Snare Drum Etude, and Timpani Etude plus Sightreading on all three elements.
Please Note: All Snare Rolls should be played closed. All Timpani Rolls should be played single stroke.
Percussion: FINAL AUDITION Requirements

For the Final Audition, students are required to play the Mallet Etude, Snare Drum Etude, and Timpani Etude plus Sightreading on all three elements.

Notes about Final Audition Score Sheets
All middle and high school woodwind and brass students will perform both etudes at the final audition (lyrical and technical etudes). The Middle School sample score sheet indicates one “Prepared Selection” for 60% of the total score. Students will perform both the lyrical and technical etudes (30% per etude) for the total Prepared Selection score for 60% of the total score (same as the High School sample score sheet).
Sample score sheet indicates two sight reading exercises. Students will only perform one sight reading exercise at the Final Audition. The sight reading score will be doubled to count for 40% of the total score.
